Each private school is exclusive in some ways. It has its own distinguishing characteristics and charisma. Its identity is community based; with responsibilities and allied obligations towards them. This is how it becomes exclusive in identity. It thus becomes a distinguished educational institute.
The history shows small origin of public schools way back to 1660; it caught momentum in popularity in the 18th century. The motivating factor for beginning these schools was to give nation an educated enlightened class to run the country. The existing schools relied more on religious beliefs. Wealthy classes had their own bent of mind towards education. The teachers’ belief rested on many years experience in educational field. Thus the objective of each school was similar in some ways and different in other ways. However the wealthy and the influential in 1950s and 1960s governed the educational institutes. Thus the education became high-priced here.
It was during this period that private school was given different names like independent schools or public schools. These were not governed by local state or national official government. Moreover they were at liberty to pick and choose their own students. The financial burden was shouldered through tuition fees paid by students and not through government aid. Private schools do not comply with all state regulations but to maintain educational standards follow laid down syllabus. Religious schools have a fixed extra curriculum of moral teachings.
There is a big demand in present times for private school admission. The ratio of student teacher is big enough to be managed well for teaching and interaction. The children especially of primary class level do not feel lost and get personalized attention from the teacher. Teaching is not confined to studies but emphasis is given to sports and other extracurricular activities. The teachers are well qualified and are selected after a laid down procedure. They are able to do justice to students in curriculum coverage as well as in developing all round personality. The children know their limits and there are very few incidents of discipline violation or student expulsion from school.
Private school divert their extra fund in building excess facilities for students. The libraries are well equipped so are the media centres; all equipment is maintained well. The sports ground has a coach for every game. Swimming horse riding and theatre choirs, orchestra music are some of the hobbies introduced to children right from formative years. Each child is not compelled to pursue every hobby. Emphasis is on interest and all round development. The aim of the school is to make each child sharp shrewd worldly wise as he gains academic excellence.
It is easy for parents to short list schools. The deciding factor for most parents is the distance of the school from home. It should be easy to commute. Parents take form of all these schools and if lucky enough get a seat in at least one of them. Admission to these schools is really difficult because parents and children both must be successful on most of the parameters laid down by the school. Begin to make your preparations from today.
